ReLocate Magazine's Fiona Murchie Discusses how BridgeStreet Gives Travel Managers Peace of Mind21 Jul 2017
ReLocate Magazine's own Managing Editor Fiona Murchie understand the trials and tribulations of Relocation Agents and Travel Managers first hand. Watch as she describes, in this video, how BridgeStreet can take some of the weight of managing travel for employees off of the travel manager's shoulders.
Glenn: I'm with Fiona Murchie, she's the Managing Editor of Relocate Magazine. We're here at the BridgeStreet Hospitality booth because, let me tell you, BridgeStreet Global made a massive announcement today. There's an all new bridgestreet.com, and they're going to be focused on bringing the serviced apartment industry to the OTA universe. Fiona, big deal. How do you see it?
Fiona: I think it's great news, because our readership, our HR corporate users and those managing global teams, and they really want accessibility pretty quickly to serviced apartments. They are convinced that it's a good offering, but they want to access it. That's really good news. Also, they over spill into the business travel market as well.
Glenn: I feel like a lot of people have wanted to stay in the serviced apartment universe before, but it hasn't been that easy. This deal seems to take a lot of the complication out of it.
Fiona: I think it does, yes. Also, very large companies are not necessarily all that joined up, so they may have somebody working in a global mobility department who doesn't speak as regularly as they should do with the business traveler. Then they have people shooting off on project work, and there's all sorts of compliance issues. It's all about transparency for them, safety, security, doing duty of care. If someone like BridgeStreet can come along and say, "We're taking the pain out of that, you can trust us, this is quick and easy," it's obviously a no-brainer.
Glenn: Great, so check out the new bridgestreet.com, the first OTA in the serviced apartment industry. I'm Glenn Haussman for Here To Stay TV, thank you so much for watching.
